  • The time he was tossed a mic by Tommy Dreamer:
"I'm that good I didn't even drop the mic, I am that good."
  • After the main event of PWG's Battle of Los Angeles 2005, Chris Bosh attempts to cut the famous Austin 3:16 promo on Styles, but when he gets to the part about the Bible, AJ, who is already sore from losing and a pretty devoted Christian, goes nuclear, breaks character, steals the mike and yells at him for disrespecting his religion. What makes it hilarious is that AJ Styles, even then a pretty awesome pro wrestler, apparently doesn't know one of the most famous quotes in pro wrestling history.
"Don't you ever...EVER mock my Jesus."
  • At the start of their classic Unbreakable 2005 match, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles gang up on Christopher Daniels. Joe nails a falling Daniels with a savage kick across the back that can be heard through the area. AJ pushes him back, yelling "that's not how you do it!" He then kicks Daniels himself and yells at Joe "that's how you do it!" Joe nodded as if thinking "okay, not bad" and then kicks Daniels again. AJ waves a finger at him before giving Daniels another kick. The payoff is Daniels leaping to his feet screaming "Stop...kicking me!"....and Joe kicks him across the chest while Styles kicks him in the legs.
  • The Angle Alliance exhibition during the 2008 Lockdown leadup to Kurt Angle's match against Samoa Joe. AJ ran around the ring away from Kurt Angle for three straight minutes and had the crowd chanting his name as the smartest man in the room for the segment.
  • The absolute look of horror on Kurt Angle's face as he, stripped to his skivvies and sprawled on his behind on the entrance ramp, watched his (ex-)wife Karen and AJ Styles be pronounced man and wife was priceless.
  • June 2, 2011: A.J. Styles cuts off Bully Ray's rant by saying Ray has a tiny penis. Ray has a Villainous Breakdown ordering the audience to stop laughing at him and making fun of his penis.
  • His match against fellow Bullet Club member (and, in fact, his fellow leader) Karl Anderson during the NJPW G1 Climax in 2014. They mess with one another during most of the match and the audience approves.
  • Same goes for Styles and Yujiro Takahashi's tag team match against Anderson and Doc Gallows in the World Tag League tournament later that same year.
  • During CHIKARA's 2015 King of Trios, AJ went for his springboard forearm only to slip off the ropes. The next night, he's hesitant to do the move again and just walks back into the ring, and when he goes for it again, he first gets pulled off the apron by Daniel Moloney, and another time during the match with Team AAA he slips even worse than before and eats shit, forcing him and the Bucks to go to the outside and recover, resulting in this amazing outburst:
    AJ: I HATE LUCHA ROPES!!!
  • Michael Cole had AJ on for a sit-down interview in February of 2016, a month after his much-lauded debut. Cole asked him what makes WWE so different from anywhere else he'd ever performed. AJ's response?
    AJ: The catering.
  • AJ's appearance on The Edge and Christian Show That Totally Reeks of Awesomeness, where the two talk about his appearances before his WWE days. They mention his time as a member of the Bullet Club, although they joke about Writing Around Trademarks and the WWE renaming it the Mullet Club. When the topic of a certain organization which Styles wrestled from 2002-2014 is brought up and ask if WWE will talk about it, Edge and Christian proceed to show a picture of Test and Albert with the caption T & A before all three men burst into a laughing fit and saying that WWE would never talk about it. AJ admits that it was Actually Pretty Funny.
  • The #BeatUpJohnCena segment alongside Anderson and Gallows on the 4th of July 2016 Raw. AJ talks about what a great day it would be to beat up John Cena, while noticing the holiday occasion and having the guys disclose their plans for the rest of the year's major holidays, all of which end with beating up John Cena. Especially funny when he talks to Karl Anderson about Christmas and Anderson breaks in a mention of his hot Asian wife, to which Styles agrees that she is hot.
  • Styles getting crotched by Dean Ambrose on the top rope after Styles tried to springboard off it to catch Dean by surprise. Not only did he seem to be paralyzed in pain (allowing Dean to mess around), but he remained, unmoving, on the rope well into the introductions for the night's dark match. Which also led John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins to all jostle the rope in various ways for their own (and the audience's) amusement.
    • Made somewhat even funnier by the fact that Styles defeated Ambrose at Backlash by hitting him with a Groin Attack of his own.
  • Blink and you'll miss it, Styles suffers a wardrobe malfunction, in the form of a giant hole at the back of his pants during his match with Dean Ambrose in Tables, Ladders & Chairs (2016). For most of the match, his butt cheek is exposed to the audience.
  • His third title "match" with James Ellsworth. He hits one Phenomenal Blitz - not even a finisher - and gets the pin in less than a minute. After two weeks of build-up, it is hilariously anticlimactic, and really the only way this feud could have ended.
  • Daniel Bryan claimed on Talking Smack that AJ believes the earth is flat, which led to a whole statement where AJ said he wasn't a flat earther, but that they did have interesting points.
  • AJ is noted to be a huge gamer. As shown on Up, Up, Down, Down, he's also noted to be quite the Sore Loser. Former TNA and current WWE companions Xavier Woods and Samoa Joe have gone on record to on multiple occasions AJ refused to give up playing the longer he lost and would often throw tantrums until he got his wins backnote . Of particular note is the game of Madden NFL he played against Seth Rollins. He got so worked up that he Rage Quit before finishing the game, and blamed his loss on the fact they were playing on a Playstation and not an Xbox. By the time he did get his rematch against Rollins on an Xbox - a rematch which, mind you, he lost - he entered a Heroic BSoD.
    • During the WWE x IGN eSports Showdown tournament, after he loses to Kofi Kingston, AJ breaks the controller. Which prompts Kofi to bring a fan out holding a sign that says "Hey AJ! Stop breaking the controllers!"
    • Being a devout Christian, AJ actively employs the Gosh Dang It to Heck! trope to the fullest and has never sworn, but near defeats have him come so dangerously close to breaking that rule on multiple occasions.
    • Bringing back #BeatUpJohnCena in a WWE 2K17 match against Sasha Banks, who chose Cena as her player character. AJ and his fan-partner bellow it at the top of their lungs, to everyone's amusement.
      • After losing the match, AJ's punishment is to do the New Day chant, complete with booty-popping. AJ has total white-boy rhythm, and says "that's as good as it's gonna get".
  • During the SummerSlam match against Kevin Owens with Shane McMahon as the guest referee, there was a point where Shane had taken a bump to the outside of the ring. AJ had put Owens in the Calf Crusher, and Owens tapped out. When he approached Shane, though:
Shane: (holding up two fingers) "Two! Two."
    AJ: "TWO? He TAPPED OUT!"
