Fridge / Voyagers!

Go To

Fridge Brilliance:

  • The purpose of the Voyagers is to Set Right What Once Went Wrong and to police time. However the question remained: who messed time and history up in the first place? Renegade Voyager Drake was responsible for the changes to the timeline, based on his statement in "The Trial of Phineas Bogg".
Drake: "It had to be done, for The Cause! The future shall judge me as a hero!"

Fridge Horror

  • "Voyagers!":
    • While some people might not care, given their attitudes towards Jeffrey, Jeffrey's Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Tom would have had to go through the issues of having their charge disappear from the apartment under their noses. Bogg may have unintentionally put them in the middle of a police investigation to figure out how their nephew disappeared and whether they know anything about it.
    • Bogg ranting about how he's going to lose his job is Played for Laughs, coming as it does after world-shaking events, but he has good reason to be worried. Voyagers are time-displaced people. If Bogg lost his job, would the people in charge stick him right back where he was (possibly facing impending deathnote )?
  • "Bully and Billy": Bogg's line about how he's just glad Jeff is okay is easy to miss, but there's a lot of horror behind it. Jeff was with a short-tempered gunslinger who only Bogg and Roosevelt have the courage to face, and Jeff can be very blunt and smart-alecky. Bogg may have been hurrying not just to make sure Billy didn't kill Roosevelt, but also to make sure he didn't hurt Jeff if the boy came to his senses and protested.

Fridge Logic

  • How can a kid's knowledge of history compete with a time traveler's book?
  • Why does everyone everywhere speak 20th century English?
  • When they (almost invariably) jump from one time to another in the middle of the episode, why do they have to hurry to get back to the time they left before it's too late to fix history?
