  • One of the ways progression is regulated in Valdis Story: Abyssal City is via doors and keys. The first key the player acquires in the game is the Skeleton Key, which is typically known for fitting on multiple locks. There's additional meaning behind it however, when you realise that Sitheil is the homestead of Valdis, the skeleton-faced godess of death. Much like the Angel doors are in worship of Alagath, and the Demon doors are in worship of Myrgato, the Skeleton doors are in worship of Valdis.
  • The first Life potion you find is pretty far from the first Spirit potion you find, yet the Abandoned Gardens are home to one of each potion. Might look like this grouping of progression goodies is random at first, but then it makes sense when you realise that the end boss to the Gardens is an alchemist.
