Fridge Brilliance

  • It's possible that the Plot Device was already broken (though not visibly so) when Tyria stumbled upon it in Episode One. Notice how we never see the Plot Device do anything until after Yaya repairs it at the beginning of Episode Two.
  • Yaya's Infinity Gauntlet isn't the exact same gauntlet that Thanos used in Avengers: Infinity War — it's a copy created by the Plot Device. This means Yaya's Infinity Gauntlet might have some abilities that Thanos's does not, and vice versa.
    • Yaya is also more creative than Thanos, and her usage of the gauntlet is broader than simply as a weapon.
  • For most of Episode Two, Yaya was quite reckless with the Infinity Gauntlet. Since she received the completed gauntlet without going on an epic journey to collect the Infinity Stones, she hadn't learned to respect its power.
  • Yaya's Infinity Gauntlet had the awareness to not only recognize that she was misusing its power but also try to stop her because it has a mind and soul of its own.

Fridge Logic

  • Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame both show that simply equipping a completed Infinity Gauntlet produces a huge energy surge that could be dangerous for weaker users (such as regular humans). This energy surge is so powerful that even the strongest being in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thanos, reacts to it (although he isn't actually hurt by it).
When Yaya puts on the Infinity Gauntlet in Episode Two, she doesn't react at all — but we know she put it on correctly because she wields the Infinity Gauntlet with no problem. This, of course, implies that she is somehow stronger than Thanos.
    • After Yaya acquires the Infinity Gauntlet, blue lines appear on her forearm, which persist after she hides the Infinity Gauntlet (visual shorthand for deactivating it). It's never explicitly stated, but one could infer that the blue lines are in some way related to the Infinity Gauntlet.
    • Yaya being stronger than Thanos becomes more plausible in the wake of Episode Four, which reveals that Yaya is the daughter of Apophis.
  • During the Episode Four battle, Tyria and Yaya both manage to land hits on the Apephet-possessed-Oracle (complete with gory sound effects), but at the end of the episode the Oracle seems to show no signs of injury.

Fridge Horror

  • In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Infinity Stones were so powerful because they were tied to different aspects of the universe, having been formed from six singularities that existed before the beginning of the universe. In the Tyria and Yaya universe, however, these six singularities never existed, but Yaya's Infinity Gauntlet displays just as much power as Thanos's Infinity Gauntlet, if not more. This raises a few possibilities:
