Fridge Brilliance

  • Possibly unintentional, but Jordan suggesting Sadie apply to Kent State University is rather morbidly appropriate (not to mention cringe-inducing), given that the school is arguably most known for a shooting that occurred on campus, costing multiple students their lives.
  • Big Al was killed after he talked about the plan to search the abandoned warehouses. But before that, he talked about being a firefighter, a fire marshal, and his familiarity with the high school gym from his handball glory days. The girls weren't just worried about him finding Lowell; they were worried his fire marshal duties would prevent them from burning the gym down during the prom.

Fridge Horror

  • We never find out what happened to Sadie's mother. In fact, she's never mentioned at all. It's confirmed that Sadie and McKayla have been killing since they were preteens. Uh-oh.

Fridge Logic

  • At the end of the movie, McKayla shoots Lowell dead, and then burns the gymnasium down, killing everyone inside. It is then revealed that all of the blame for the killings and the arson fell on Lowell. The problem is that any two-bit coroner would notice the fact that Lowell's lungs would show no signs of smoke inhalation, indicating that he died before the fire was lit. So how in the hell did McKayla and Sadie manage to pin the arson on him?
    • Maybe by claiming they killed him in self-defense before the fire started and they escaped? Granted, this isn't mentioned and can't be called very plausible.
    • It seems to fit well with the running gag that the Rosedale cops, who had already classified several obvious murders as accidents, aren't particularly good at their jobs.
  • How was Toby's death not identified as a homicide, given that he had five stab wounds to his torso?
