• Gard's obsession with the dangers of nuclear power not only gives him a natural interest in the super-advanced, clean technology Bobbi invents. It also foreshadows the horrors wrought on Haven by the ship's radiation, which causes Body Horror that is at least as bad as the effects of the worst nuclear disasters of the 20th century.
