• It's revealed that Samara's father is an oceanic deity, making her a demigod, similar to Sadako, except that it's already revealed since way back in the first film. Samara is associated with both water and horses. They're not exactly an odd mix; in fact, the two are attributes of a well-known figure in Classical Mythology. The figure's name? Poseidon.
