  • I'd struggled to describe the show's format to people, referring to it as a "sitcom, but with the plot described, and sketches filling in the show," or "a sketch comedy show, but made up exclusively with recurring characters and a narrated framing plot between the sketches," or other stuff like that, but then, just a moment ago, I came up with the perfect portmanteau term for it: it's a skitcom. A sitcom made up of skits. Skitcom. - Totz the Plaid
  • 21st Century Cynic: Hap Shaughnessy tells wildly unbelievable tall tales, from stories that imply he's over 100 years old to events that defy the laws of physics to surviving unsurvivable events, but is rarely accused of outright lying. These stories might indeed only be exaggerations, considering the fact that everyone at the lodge survives impossible catastrophes with only minor injuries and witness events that defy all scientific law on a daily basis. On top of that Old Man Sedgewick is also impossibly old, with at least one episode hinting he's been alive since the time of dinosaurs. While Hap likely does embellish his résumé, it might not be as frequent or by as much as everyone thinks.
