Fridge Brilliance

  • Wanda referring to Harry as the only person she can imagine being with has an extra layer of depth when considering that her canon love interest essentially doesn't exist in this version of events (Vision's body was created but it was hijacked by Zola, and there is no sign his consciousness will exist here); as an impossible being herself, Wanda's chosen partners are always literally unique in her relevant universes.
  • The circumstances of Carol Danvers' confrontation with Thanos basically reflects one of the more positive interpretations of why she never stopped the Black Order herself. Putting aside the obvious issue that space is large and she had other priorities, Carol may simply have been unaware of the exact nature of Thanos's ambitions. As a result, she underestimated his power and what he was capable of, leading to her assuming he was just another would-be galactic despot who could be quickly defeated in the final clash, when in reality he was a larger threat and Carol drawing out the battle just gave Thanos time to perform the Snap.
  • The Broken Day swiftly confirms that even when ostensibly part of the resistance against Hydra and the wizarding world, Tom Riddle still cannot take his ego out of the equation. When he finds himself facing Harry for the first time in this reality, rather than try and play a long game and convince Harry to side with him, his first response is to try and probe Harry's mind and take the information he wants that way. Rather than take his time to win Harry over, Riddle's determination that he must be the one to "win" gives Harry all the proof he needs that he cannot trust Riddle any more than he would have trusted Voldemort, creating a fourth front in the war as Riddle will always fall victim to Voldemort's character flaws such as his inability to trust others.
  • In the new timeline of Broken Day, Fawkes is shown with the X-Men rather than as Albus Dumbledore's familiar, simultaneously reinforcing how far Dumbledore has fallen and acknowledging the X-Men's ties to the Phoenix Force (particularly since Fawkes is shown with Jean Grey in particular).
  • As the storyline develops the character of Septimus Snape, the son of Severus Snape and Lily Evans, it becomes clear that he is essentially a flipped version of Harry in more ways than just the fact that Snape is his father rather than James. Where Harry questioned authority and recognised that he would have to solve things himself rather than depend on others, Septimus is shown initially accepting the idea that the teachers at Hogwarts are "good" just because they are the ones in charge, making him essentially more complacent than Harry.

Fridge Horror

  • Word of God notes that Lily's actions in the new timeline of Broken Day are basically a twisted extension of her canon sacrifice to save Harry. Ultimately Lily is willing to do whatever it takes to save others, but where in canon she chose to sacrifice herself to save her infant son, here she is essentially forcing others to become her subjects as she experiments on Hermione and Luna to turn them into Super-Soldier equivalents to oppose Hydra's own enhanced agents. Her goal to cure her son's terminal illness and oppose Hela might be fundamentally laudable, but her methods for doing so are flawed at best.
