Fridge Horror

  • As we see in the case of Morgan's daughter, children get and die from the plague. But we don't see any zombieified kids walking around later on. While the 'real' reason is that the film-makers didn't want to show Morgan staking child vampires/zombies, in the setting of the film there's a darker one. Remember how Morgan comments at one point that the brain-damaged undead will feed on their weaker members?

Fridge Horror

  • Phil comes very close to killing himself in the first episode, just being stopped at the sight of Carol's camp site. This just raises the question: How many other survivors thought they were the last person on Earth, and how many of them committed suicide without knowing that they weren't alone?
  • In "Dead Man Walking" Gail laments the fact that Gordon's death might have been prevented if one of the group had known CPR. Yet, in "Alive in Tuscon" we saw Carol successfully perform CPR on Phil. Thus, Carol has even more of a reason to feel guilty than just having startled him.
  • The original die-off of most of humanity would only have been the start. Even if you survived the outbreak, anyone with a chronic illness is pretty much screwed. Diabetics (insulin requires refridgeration), anyone who needs dialysis, people who are bedridden with injuries or sickness and require outside care, and of course, children. Any of them might have survived at first, only to be left with a slow death as there was no one left to help them. Some of this is touched upon with Melissa, as, we find out later that she doesn't have any antipsychotics, which means that her illness can't be treated, so it raises the question as to what happened to those with mental illnesses and needs their medicines to function. That idea, coupled with the fact that other survivors could be out there and unaware of each other, makes this worse.
  • The fate of children in general. Most of them are dead, and any survivors probably weren't lucky enough to have their parents survive as well.
  • As of "Got Milk," the news states that President Pence has died from the virus. What follows is the funeral proceedings of Presidents Ryan, Tillerson, Mnuchin, Sessions, and DeVos, but DeVos would be the 59th President instead of 51st. If they didn't make a mistake in succession order, it is possible that Hatch, Mattis, Zinke, Ross, Price, Carson, and Perry all died before any of the previous presidents.
  • Karl sates his cannibalistic hunger with pieces of a corpse he digs up in the cemetery. If this person had been a victim of the virus, he would have likely been exposed and infected. Likewise, if he had bypassed the graveyard and eaten of bodies he found abandoned in cars, homes, or lying freely along the beach, Karl's last meal would have been a deadly dish indeed. But then, there'd be no one to solve the deadly exploding Rubik's cube...unless one of the other survivors idly picked it up and fiddled with it a while....
