The Gestalt’s antechamber is described as being “colder than a Frost Giant’s scrote.” Well, that makes sense; if the third installment is anything to go by, the Gestalt is weakened by the cold. Whoever it was that trapped it there, they knew that fire would make it spread quicker, so they went for the other extreme.
