Fridge Brilliance

  • The Todd in the Shadows review of "Closer" points out separately that Halsey is "oversinging", Andrew Taggart is limited as a vocalist, and that one of the more interesting aspects of the song is that their respective characters seem to be experiencing their reunion very differently. The unmade connection is that the two vocalists' wildly different delivery styles kind of add to the impression that their characters feel differently about each other. Taggart sings without a lot of expression, making most of what he says sound jaded or sarcastic, while Halsey sounds a lot more sincere.
Fridge Horror
  • The ending of the video of "You Owe Me" has Alex throwing out a garbage containing body parts of their victims that both him and Andrew slaughtered. The video also begins this way but it more mundane which implies that they've done this before...
    • The end of their video of "Everybody Hates Me" also shows Andrew with the same dark eyes he had during the slaughter in "You Owe Me".
