Fridge / The Brothers Grunt

Go To

Fridge Brilliance

  • Technically speaking, the title doesn't refer to just the main six brothers—as an entire species spawned of a single individual, every Grunt is a "brother Grunt", i.e. a Grunt who is a brother. This means, even in episodes where the main six make no appearance ("Black Balled Grunt", "Grunt Games", and "No Quest Today") the title still applies.
  • Why would Sammy be mistaken for a resident at an old folks' home? In addition to the grey hair and old-fashioned shoes common to all Grunts, Sammy has no teeth—much like someone who would need to wear dentures.
  • Of course Dean would be distracted by a mechanical horse in "Clean Up on Aisle Grunt"—Dean loves animals.

Fridge Horror

  • A Grunt may well live off of only martinis and cheese, but Vince is presumably human. What hell has his body gone through after years of only eating a Grunt diet?
  • If the Grunts weren't a peaceable brotherhood of fairly dim monks, their presence in the world would be terrifying. They're just about indestructible, only really need one member of their species alive (the Maximus) to continue the species in the event of a disaster, have enough strength to rip a man's arm from his body ("Viva Grunt Vegas") or carry five full-grown women without effort ("The Detective") and can squeeze and stretch their bodies to infiltrate small spaces (like, say, the pipes of someone's home). It's lucky they only really want to eat cheese and slap each other all day...
