Fridge Brilliance:
- Annibal's father was in a Cuban prison. If he was imprisoned as a result of the Bay of Pigs Invasion, it would explain Annibal's reluctance to get involved in a CIA intelligence operation.
Fridge Logic:
Carlos is aided and funded by the KGB, but neither he nor they ever catch on that Annibal is an imposter, when his true movements should be known (e.g. if they already suspect him switching sides, which is the goal, you'd think they'd be monitoring him at all times).
- They are. There's a KGB surveillance unit outside Carlos' house. Annibal hides in the grounds, then slips out of the house pretending to be Carlos.
