• Fridge Horror: The television time it took Geordi from stating "Let's go, we only got 41 seconds." (from the ship blowing up) to the ship being shown reversing outside the Starbase after being set on automatic navigation was 1 minute and 11 seconds (though close enough that an antimatter containment explosion could be catastrophic, or possibly completely destroy the Starbase from that distance), and didn't safely warp away until 1 minute and 26 seconds! This didn't include actual time it would have taken for Geordi and Data to ride the turbolift to the transporter room and set the transporter controls to automatically beam them to the Starbase 74's operations center. If the antimatter containment failure wasn't a hoax by the Bynars, the Enterprise would have blown up while still inside the Starbase!
• The advanced nature of future holodeck characters is likely the result of the Bynar programming seen in this episode.
