Fridge Horror

• Think about the very concept of Smogon within the Pokémon universe. Trainers are pitting powerful Pokémon against each other, and their most powerful tiers consist of extremely powerful legendaries, with their immense powers being used for competitive battling. Mewtwo and Genesect were scientifically manufactured to be stronger than any other Pokémon. Kyogre and Groudon were sought by the villainous teams for their powers to change the world. The Creation Trio are dimensional eldritch creatures who can control time, space and antimatter. The Kami Trio can control nature and go on rampages if they're pissed off. The Swords of Justice and Tapus are protectors of nature who hate humans. Necrozma was a former deity who can steal the light of entire dimensions. An Ubers battle would have a lot of horrifying implications within the Pokémon universe. How did these Trainers get these legendary Pokémon? Why are they pitting them against each other? How come even Arceus is being used as well?
  • What about the Pokémon who were once human, such as Yamask and Phantump (who are the ghosts of children), now battling in LC?
  • Galarian Fossils, enough said!
  • To expand on that, Mewtwo holds a grudge towards humans for its creation. Thank Arceus this isn’t anime Mewtwo.
    • Anime Mewtwo discovering an equivalent of Smogon would mean certain death for that counterpart.
  • The concept is horrifying enough when accounting for the standard tiers, but what about the Other Metagame formats where Pokémon can have abilities/moves/etc that they normally don't have? Would this be the equivalent of unethical experimentation on Pokémon?
  • Jeremy Chinshue, famous for his Something About series, made a Legendary & Mythical Pokémon Battle Royale that shows the in-universe consequences of using Ubers. According to that video, pitting Arceus and Ultra Necrozma against each other destroys the entire universe!
