Fridge Horror

  • In "Commodity", the first story in Season 17, there's a scene where the protagonists enter a suspect's office and a detective moves to open a door. Jack shouts for her not to, suspecting a trap. She does anyway, nothing happens...then it triggers an explosion. Cue everyone getting knocked to the ground and screaming, including Nikki. Now, this is a perfectly understandable reaction from anyone who was nearly blown up, but then you remember that in the finale of the previous season, "Greater Love" (which is implied to take place several months before "Commodity"), Nikki and Jack could only watch helplessly as their boss and close friend Leo was blown up by a suicide bomber, whilst dragging him away from the crowds to prevent any further casualties. Suddenly, Jack's apparent paranoia and Nikki's terrified reaction take on a whole new meaning.

Fridge Brilliance

  • In "Falling Angels", when Lana sees the news report citing Owen as a suspect in the murders, she runs to the bedroom and locks herself inside, terrified of him, whilst he breaks down the door and threatens to kill her. However, this reaction seems rather odd given The Reveal that Lana both knew Owen was the killer all along and actually participated in the murders. However, one then realises that at this stage, the police are only looking at Owen as the sole perpetrator and have no idea Lana is involved. Lana isn't afraid that Owen will kill her for finding out he's the killer; she's frightened he will kill her because the cops are onto them and he knows she could easily throw him under the bus to save herself.
