Fridge Brilliance

  • Masugitsune admitted in the second volume's afterword that he intended for this manga to be a comedic, lighthearted, and short thing. This can be seen in chapters 1 and 2 being actually a tad silly, having a lot more comedic moments in them than the rest of the series. Chapter 3 is where the comedy takes a backseat and the rest of the adaptation is serious. This actually works out perfectly! It's very similar to the original anime, which also started off as the more stereotypical magical girl series, with episode 3 being the first Wham Episode and leading the series into becoming a lot darker than expected.
