• According to the first novel, when Phryne arrives in Melbourne, it's already October (she specifically mentions the outcome of that year's VFL Grand Final, which was played on September 29). So that means the next 16 books have to fit into the last three months of 1928, since it's not until Murder In The Dark that a book is dated to 1929. Are there even enough days in the year to make that work?
