During Max and Luna's Near-Death Experience, Luna offers her life in exchange for his. Death creates a wall of fire for her to walk through. Luna pleads for any other way, as she's afraid of fire. Death taunts her, saying "I know". Part of Luna's backstory is that she almost died in a fire when the Ku Klux Klan raided her store (they disapproved of her New Age merchandise and the fact that she had a black employee), so of course Death would know that she's afraid it.
Her pyrophobia makes even more sense when she eventually reveals that the Klan didn't just trash her store and burn it, one of them dragged her into the storage room and raped her.
On the Soap OperaPort Charles, Ian Thornhart had several scenes of a Dead Person Conversation with his late sister Granya. Ian Thornhart is the twin brother of Patrick Thornhart, who was in love with Marty Saybrooke. Marty and Granya were both played by Susan Haskell. So Patrick fell in Love at First Sight with someone who looked exactly like his sister?!
