  • Regis spends a lot of time in the movie trying to find the Interstate Commerce Commission, which is seeking to eminent domain purchase his apartment building and tear it down to make a parking lot. At the end of the movie, he is able to find them by asking the President. Interestingly, the Interstate Commerce Commission is, or at least it once was. It was dissolved in 1996, the same year the movie was being filmed. Did the President go a little overboard in making certain they couldn't destroy Regis' home?
