• Why didn't Akechi kill Shido's shadow in The Metaverse? It would have surely been less of a hassle than a more mundane murder that's more likely to leave evidence. There are actually two very good reasons for that.
  1. Shido's shadow is incredibly strong, practically a Marathon Boss, and Akechi was working completely alone until he met the Phantom Thieves. Confronting his shadow would be suicide.
  2. It's unlikely that Shido is the only member of The Conspiracy who knows of The Metaverse. By killing Shido the same way he did the other Mental Shutdown victims, Akechi would have painted a target on his back for assassins to kill him in the real world where he's vulnerable.
