• In the first chapter, Sawyer is shown running away from goblins, but he has no problem with facing a more powerful Jabberwock. One reason for it? He was carrying the coffin containing Rosalie's mummy and the ingredients he already collected at the time and trying to fight back would have more risk of damaging them than running away due to their weight. Notably, whenever he does fight, the coffin is placed somewhere safe. Which is a good habit, because Sawyer can only be killed if Rosalie is damaged.
