Fridge / Leverage: Redemption

Fridge Brilliance

  • Of Course the corrupt, more specifically their lawyers, would have to come up with ways to work within the system. For over a decade, those who broke the law and managed to cover it up were brought down by the Leverage Team and likely those arrests would've exposed the legal loopholes the corrupt used in the first place.
  • The second episode shines more light on Parker's Only One Name status: she doesn't have her birth certificate—and doubling as Fridge Tearjerker, she might not actually know the rest of her name.
  • When Milton is describing Nate in "The Mastermind Job", he talks about how kind and supportive Nate was to the forensic accountants at IYS, always remembering their birthdays and giving them inspiring pep talks. Eliot and Sophie are confused, because they remember Nate as a very angry person whose pep talks made people cry. But Nate at IYS had a happy home life until his son Sam died, so it makes sense that Milton would remember Nate differently than the crew did.
  • After Fletcher Maxwell flees the country, the team goes after him to "finish the job" ending with them framing him for the destruction of the retirement packages for several dangerous people. Maxwell was the first mark the team took down after reunion: what did Nate say to Victor Dubenich (the team's very first mark) the first time they took him down? "Next time we won't be so nice".
    • Also, when Nate allowed Victor a chance for vengeance, he murdered Nate's father. Sophie is NOT giving Maxwell that chance.
  • Why does Fake Nate/Milton describe Parker as Legendary, and discount Eliot's abilities in non-hacking areas? Because Milton is working off a bunch of bar stories. It's also shown he gets a few details confused, and doubtless has to fill in a lot, to make the story coherent without Sophie. Therefore, he only remembers the biggest moments of awesome for each. For Parker, these would be the biggest moments of stealing, and the fact she was the best, and never caught. In the case of Eliot? The times Eliot defeated a whole bunch of guys. These were also 'pick-up' stories Milton used for women, so Nate's role was certainly exaggerated.
    • Furthermore, Nate had a role as Parker's surrogate father. He was (like most of team) protective of her. He was also very proud of her, and probably talked about her more than the rest.
  • Why does the team never go after Harry's old firm? Well, besides the fact that evil lawyers are a dime a dozen, to the point that every one of their targets has a couple? There's really no point. These guys are middle men, not the targets. They don't commit crimes, they just cover them up. Besides, going after the bad guys who they're defending? Has a good chance of hitting them hard too, considering that e-mails would be seen in discovery. Lawyers are NOT allowed to lie to the court, and having actual knowledge of certain things can be MIGHTY problematic.
