In Kaeloo's "realistic" nightmare, Mr. Cat gets sent to an animal shelter to be adopted as a pet while Pretty, who is also an animal, is allowed to get a job in retail interacting with humans. Mr. Cat often displays animalistic traits such as meowing, purring, licking himself, and excessive sleeping, and often talks about how he's a cat, so Kaeloo's subconscious sees him as a cat more than a twelve-year-old boy. Pretty, on the other hand, puts more emphasis on being a girl than on being a rabbit, so Kaeloo's mind sees her primarily as a girl.
