  • In Challenge mode, the Isla Nublar 1993 map starts off with the Triceratops and Stegosaurus sharing an enclosure. At first glance, players might see it as just one of several design problems they need to deal with (since the two species don’t get along), but there’s another layer to it: in the original novel, the protagonists on the park tour come across a sick Stegosaurus being treated by Dr. Harding. In the film, the animal is replaced with a sick Triceratops. In the game, both species are a viable option, coming as they do after the Dilophosaurus on the tour.

  • It makes sense that the Prehistoric Marine DLC pack would debut alongside the update with the perpetually-underwater Lagoon Viewing Dome, but there’s an extra layer to it. Until that update, all marine animals were species that had to occasionally come up for air, meaning the lagoon viewing galleries could allow guests to stay at the above-water view and still see the animals to an extent. The Prehistoric Marine pack has Dunkleosteus, the first species that doesn't have to come up for air at all, meaning the guests need an underwater view to see it!
