Fridge Brilliance

  • When Diego remarks dryly to Granny that he's "glad to see her," it's played for laughs. Upon second thought, however, she just nearly poked his eye out. Of course he's glad to see her! He's glad to see anything.
  • Some may wonder how it is that Peaches seems to pull so many more stunts than her mom Ellie. Obvious answer is that she’s younger and lighter, but the other reason is that Ellie was in a unique situation and had to figure out how to manage Possum stuff with a Mammoth body all on her own. Peaches had her mom to teach her how to do the basics, so she could come up with some tricks of her own.
  • Why does Shira look much better groomed than all the other pirates? This is because cats are creatures well known for always keeping their fur tidy. They spend more grooming themselves than any other kind of animal to stay clean.

Fridge Horror

  • Manny, Sid and Diego return to the continent, only to discover Gutt and his crew had beaten them there and are holding Ellie and Peaches hostage. Diego notices a weak, injured Shira struggling to her feet. Gutt must've wounded her for letting the herd escape.
  • One of Gutt's crewmembers is shown with a knife exactly like the one Buck had in the previous movie. Considering that we only saw Buck at the beginning, riding Rudy underground, and with all the earthquakes messing up the continent, it's easy to deduce Gutt and co found a dying/dead Buck and stole the knife from him. Though Buck does reappear in the fifth film, alive and well.
  • Did Sid’s family survive the splitting of the continents?
