Episode 22 features an Imagine Spot where Oreki indirectly confesses to Chitanda. The lighting in the scene is pink due to the cherry blossoms and sunset— he's imagining that rose-colored high school life!
Pay attention to the coloring in general. The scale goes brown/gray, yellow/green, yellow, orange, and finally pink.
Sherlock Holmes is well-known for his deductive reasoning skills, but that wasn't all he was good at. He believed that a man's head was like an attic and had limited amount of space, and was very careful that only information important to his job as a detective was retained. To that end, he had an amazing memory for detail, and would often use background knowledge in conjugation with meticulous observation to reason his way through to the solution. Basically, if you fuse Houtarou, Chitanda, Mayaka, and Satoshi into a single person, you'd get something very close to that description.
In Episode 17, Satoshi would not have been wise to pound the flames engulfing the manuscript with his bare hands. Especially considering it was lit by spraying water onto a chunk of sodium hidden between the sheets. Anyone who has basic knowledge of chemistry would know that dousing their hands with concentrated sodium hydroxide is not quite a brilliant idea.
