• At the end of the film, Ellen adopts Lewellen. Ellen behaved irresponsibly and unpredictably during the entire movie, so it's unlikely that she will provide a stable home life for the already traumatized Lewellen.
• Wooden's Boy used cunning to lure Lewellen into a trap, as if he'd done this sort of thing before.
