• All Harrison actually does with his over-the-top superiority is to strut around on live TV and rub everyone's faces in it for a few minutes, before being effortlessly killed by a mediocre person. Might be intentional and meant to show the irrelevance of personal ability even while supposedly glorifying it, or might be an oversight giving the story a Broken Aesop, depending on what moral Vonnegut meant for the story to have.
• On a more frightening note, think about what medical care must be like in a world where no one is allowed to be more intelligent, and even the doctors are (by our standards) average at best. One can also hope and pray this world never figured out nuclear energy.
  • Maybe essential services are still ran by exceptional people, and most citizens are too stupid or distracted to think about the hypocrisy.
