• Fridge Logic: Who the hell designed that asylum's door system that, in the event of a power outage, all of the doors open instead of staying shut? You have a building full of prospectively dangerous people who seem all too willing to injure or kill visitors and staff, but for some reason you design the door system to have the doors to their rooms open, which allows them access to anyone that's inside the hallway when the power goes out?
  • Power outages frequently occur during fires, so this might simply be a measure to comply with building safety standards. After all, violent lunatics are still people, and letting them all burn/suffocate to death because your security system trapped them in their cells when the fire broke out would be bad PR. The real failure here is the lack of an adequate guard force to take care of the inmates in case they all escaped.
