Fridge / Enantiodromia

  • Why does Cuebey (what seems to be the Alternian equivalent of Kyubey) also seek out male candidates? It's because Alternia is such a Crapsack World and roles that apply to sex don't apply, aka males have as much angst as females do.
  • Also, why is Karkat approached at a vulnerable moment instead of just being asked? Because, previously, Karkat's life was relatively peaceful; being happy with a girlfriend. There was nothing for Cuebey to gain from that. However, Nepeta gets beaten up and Karkat panics. The chapter even goes into detail of his angst he's suffering which is ultimate for Cuebey to gain from and chances at a contract were way bigger because he hadn't anything else to save his relationship. Without the contract, Nepeta would never see him the same again and he would probably die lonely or commit suicide.
  • Why are Terezi's character traits constantly only listed as stubborn and dishonest? Because she's based off Pal Meraktis, who had such a minor role in Turnabout Corner, he hadn't even full body art and 'stubborn and dishonest' were his only character traits. And then Terezi, Pal Meraktis' incarnate, had to show up and her lines had to be written. Little problem, because Pal's only words were his dying ones and the author had to look up in the wikia for his traits.
  • Fridge Horror: Vriska wished for more control over her life. Now consider her ability - not her being a Puella Magi, but her natural ability - Mind Control. If one has control over her life, it's probably the family Serket. Just, what did happen for her to lose it?
  • Erhellen and Karkinos both have eight-letter names, just like the ancestors in the source material (who are the grown versions of the protagonists). What are Erhellen and Karkinos again? The grown forms of Vriska and Karkat.
