- Considering that Rudi and Mathilda's older children named in the Christian tradition (John, Vuissance) end up becoming Catholics like their mother, while those named in the Pagan tradition (Orlaith, Faolan) end up following their father's Pagan beliefs — and given that Mathilda emphatically does want her children to be Catholic — one wonders that she names their youngest after Rudi's Pagan mother, Juniper.
