  • Guns Are Worthless is fully highlighted in this game with the P-Sec Pistol and Pulse Rifle, because trying to kill the average Necromorph with a firearm by traditional methods is near-useless. Body shots are almost entirely ineffective unless you use a lot of firepower, and going for the head doesn't stop the rest of the body from attacking. It's no wonder Isaac, Nathan and Weller have so much success once they adapt; literally disassembling the Necromorphs with engineering tools (or using actual firearms creatively) gets the job done far better. Meanwhile Sam is killed in seconds by simple pistols, and the colonists he was killing are torn to shreds by an oversized Rivet Gun with relative ease.
  • In Chapter 5, you take various steps in the medical deck to hold off the necromorphs. One example is when you barricade the medical deck's lobby after a tentacle bursts out of the wall and attacks your crew. In Dead Space, upon arriving to the medical deck, you find the barricade up against the very same door, and when you destroy it, you find the hole in the wall made by the tentacle, exactly where it was in Extraction!!! This trend occurs a lot before this encounter. Basically, whatever state in which you leave a room in Chapter 5, Isaac Clarke finds it in the exact same state in Dead Space.
  • When Lexine becomes seperated from the rest of the party, you immediately hallucinate a Lurker attacking you. Lexine's ability to No-Sell the Marker's Mindfuckery is removed, making you vulnerable to getting mindfucked.
