Fridge / Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys

  • Probably unintentional (though knowing MCR, maybe not), but look at the videos for "Na Na Na" and "SING." "Na Na Na," which comes first, seems fun and light-hearted. "SING" is a continuation of the storyline of "Na Na Na," but is more serious and a downer. Now look at Jet Star, the character played by Ray Toro. He has an eyepatch in "SING," which he didn't have in "Na Na Na." "It's all fun and games till someone loses an eye," anyone?
  • Destroya sounds like it's Party Poison's Roaring Rampage of Revenge. It's actually Blue awakening Destroya to free the people of Battery City. She doesn't believe in luck. He doesn't believe in god being a non-sentient mecha and all. And the SCARECROWs vocally don't believe in either of them, mocking them both. Against the sun they rise as the enemy of Battery City. The lyrics are even rather explicit, tho phrased in such a way they could be mistaken without the proper context:
    • "check check, check check". A microphone test, what singers do to confirm a microphone is working. Blue finds Destroya's figure and checks to repower it.
    • "Don't believe what they say", BLind insists Destroya is a myth
    • "We're dead flies in the summertime, They leave us all behind, With duct-tape scars on my honey" is literally Blue's story up until she finds Destroya. Red is dying without proper repairs, and the city refuses to do anything to repair her until Blue and Red make a last-ditch effort to leave the city, killing Red in the process
    • and of course "Destroya, Destroya, we're all waiting for ya!" which is repeatedly stated throughout the comic, with every android and synthetic life form in the city claiming Destroya will come save them any second now
  • Why is Korse able to resist the Tube? There's a Spider in there with him. A spider shaped like the logo of the Killjoys. It even crawls onto the Chairwoman's face as the video plays of her telling Korse there's something wrong with him.
  • Why doesn't The Girl detonate after Korse first captures her during Danger Days? The Draculoid masks act to trap the soul, by putting one on her as soon as she set foot in the city limits, they inadvertantly connected The Girl as "the bomb" to her fuze in the form of the network of souls in the city.
  • Korse also neatly demonstrates why he never just shot the Chairwoman. Her body is just a vessel, killing it would do nothing to stop her or the megacorp
