Martyn insisting that Rachita stay with him after both times she's attacked initially seems to be the natural reaction of a loving boyfriend, before turning out to be that of a corrupt cop determined to keep an eye on the detective investigating him, though she doesn't know of his involvement yet.
After Rachita is attacked in her home, Martyn notices no signs of forced entry and can't find the guy, speculating that he took off when he saw him coming. The revelation that Martyn is involved in the investigation makes one wonder if he knew who the assailant was. . .or was it Martyn himself?
