• Max Remington is supposed to be the only spy in the world good enough to be allowed to "freelance." He/she only takes cases that are interesting, important, or directly requested of him/her by the United States President. The game was made in 1990. The President then was George H. W. Bush, who spent almost a year as Director of the CIA. It makes complete sense for Max Remington to be on friendly terms with the President.
