When Ginger visits Treadwell's bungalow at Sky Ranch, she sits down and makes as if she's about to lay her hat on the bed, but then changes her mind and rests it on her knee. Putting a hat on a bed is considered bad luck in old-fashioned circles, and considering that the wasteland is the New Old West, it makes sense that she would follow that tradition.
Sky Ranch is somewhere between Anaheim and Las Vegas and is modeled like some sort of old-fashioned, New Age health spa. Anyone who has made the drive from Southern California to Las Vegas is aware of Zzyzx Road, leading to a now-defunct mineral spring and health spa.
