Warning! Spoilers below!

    Fridge Brilliance
  • It makes perfect sense for a large city to build up around Nhysa Academy, which was attended by rich and very powerful people who often stayed for a long time. As explained by a ghost NPC in its ruins, people moved near the academy to provide goods and services to its staff and students and pretty soon there was a bustling metropolis with many different boroughs and even a central park!
  • It makes sense that there were fake houses in the City of Nhysa which were the entry/exit points for sprawling underground tunnels, which were often used as wine cellars. Considering the messed up things the Academy was doing to citizens and the constant plotting surrounding the city and academy, it makes sense they'd want secret tunnels they could use to get to different parts of the city. Fake buildings are also a thing in real life, though their purposes are usually not so nefarious.[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fake_buildings]

    Fridge Horror
  • Toward the end of City of Nhysa's existence, the Nhysa Academy began paying citizens for donations of small amounts of ether (Life Energy), which left 1 out of every 100 donors dead and many others deaf and blind. Considering the large number of graves for people who died from such donations, it was clear the Academy was taking advantage of declining economic conditions in the city to get lots of test subjects.
