Fridge Horror: The opera ends before we see if Lola faces any consequences for stepping out on Alfio. This could look like a Karma Houdini, but in Sicilian society of the time, the same code of honor that allows a cuckolded husband to take revenge on the man who cuckolded him may also allow for a husband to murder his unfaithful wife...with impunity, given the custom of the vendetta. Lola may have her own encounter with Alfio's knife before Easter Sunday is out...
