Fridge / Boiler Room

  • Fridge Brilliance: Some detractors of the film point out Ben Affleck's scenes as a pale imitation of Alec Baldwin in Glengarry Glen Ross, which is likely the point. As seen by the characters' love of Wall Street, these young brokers have been heavily influenced by what they've seen and heard in movies and have adapted their behaviors as such, much like real-life mafias took influence from The Godfather. Jim Young's Baldwin-esque bluster to his employees is more than likely intentional as an overt act to channel that particular performance.
