Fridge Horror

  • The movie doesn't delve into the subject at all because it's aimed at young children, but for older viewers Wenlock's attempts to force Annika and other women into marrying him has even more horrifying implications. While Annika and Brietta were spared, Wenlock's three wives weren't so fortunate and who knows what they had to endure. Then there's the fact Annika is in her late teens, as was Brietta, and Wenlock's other wives look around the same age once they're restored, which carries the implication Wenlock intentionally goes after young women who were children not so long ago. Wenlock is also a serial offender and we don't know how many girls or women he's done this to; there could be dozens of people out there who suffered horrible fates at Wenlock's hands (though hopefully the Wand of Light was able to undo some of the damage).
  • Esther, Jocelyn, and Miranda (Wenlock's wives) all wear dresses that are noticeably from different time periods. Given that Wenlock doesn't look to have aged at all in between the time he transformed Brietta and the time he attempted to kidnap Annika, and that he outright states his wand renders him invincible, his wives may well have been kept as servants under this same spell for hundreds of years.
  • When Wenlock turned Feris into a doormat, he still appeared to be aware of what was going on around him. This makes you wonder if the people Wenlock turned into stone had any awareness at all. And if it weren't for the curse being broken, they'd have been that way forever.
