Fridge Brilliance

• Reading an older and more literal translation of Arabian Nights, I was surprised and kind of disappointed to see how much of it felt like padding. Then I realized, of course it's padding; she had to keep talking until the sun came up, right?

Fridge Logic

• If Shahrazad is telling stories all night, when do she and the sultan sleep? She can sleep during the day, but he has official duties.
  • Presumably he sometimes falls asleep during the night, meaning Shahrazad can save her material for the following try.
