Karissa's bio says that the beautiful, redhead depicted in her headshot and her in-game model is just an appearance she takes whenever she's interacting with humans. So why does she appear that way throughout every game and campaign level, no matter what race the player's character is? Because the player themself is a human!

Bormac starting at Level 1 when Sundren rescues him initially clashes with his reputation as a fighter since the first game. At the same time, however, he was imprisoned by Isabella for a fairly long time, which severely affected his fighting skills.
The canon ending of the Eternal Lords campaign has Arvik allying with Werlac, the leader of the Shadowborn. This probably disappoints players who know the latter is up to no good, but from the frostlings' perspective, what very little, if any, they've heard about the Shadowborn comes from their bitter enemies the Commonwealth. This gives Arvik another reason to form an Enemy Mine with the Shadowborn, not only to defeat their mutual enemy Melenis, but also to keep the Commonwealth busy.

At the start of the Elven Court campaign, Saridas wants to marry off his daughter Sundren to a powerful suitor. What are the chances that said suitor is Werlac? That would've given the Shadowborn direct control of the Elven Court after dealing with Saridas and Julia.

Somehow, a lone Goblin Bomber can manage to capture an unguarded walled city, when their attack is explicitly said to be suicidal and they are only ever shown to carry a single large bomb and no other armament (which is not enough to get through a stone wall or sometimes even a wooden one). And even then, the Bomber is still clearly shown as being fully loaded afterwards.
The bomber can at least threaten to blow up the town (in theory), but how does an inanimate siege unit manage to capture towns?
