Fridge Brilliance
- While on their way to the Witch Trials, Tiffany and Granny Weatherwax camp out in the woods. Granny falls asleep first and starts snoring, only to suddenly stop when an owl appears, watching them. Tiffany, afraid it's the Hiver, wakes Granny up. Granny reveals she was borrowing the owl and she doesn't snore when accused of doing so. Granny goes back to sleep, starts snoring and stops again, when another owl appears. The brilliance kicks in because of course Granny would say she doesn't snore: When she is Borrowing she doesn't make a sound, so while she watches herself, she's not snoring at all.
- Rob writes down "PLAN" as "PLN." Dropping the vowels is an acceptable form of abbreviation.
- Brian, Zakzak's not-really-a-wizard Security Wizard, only took fretwork classes at Unseen University. Rincewind became the Fretwork Instructor at UU as part of his gradual accretion of job titles nobody wanted. Guess where Brian got the idea that someone totally incompetent with magic can pass themselves off as a capable wizard?
