Annie is an iconic American franchise that started in 1924 with a comic strip called Little Orphan Annie.The series follows a plucky orphan named Annie, her Canine Companion Sandy, and Annie's adopted father, the self-made millionaire Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks.note
Little Orphan Annie ran from 1924-1974 before being revived again as Annie from 1979-2010. Though it is a classic comic strip, it is best known for its various adaptations including a radio show, a theatrical musical, various movies based off the musical, and an animated special.
