General:

  • Yellow Guy's father Roy can be seen multiple times in the background, sinisterly watching the characters, his name can be seen multiple times on products in episode 5, the credits mention him as a major sponsor, and Yellow Guy even says in HELP that they were being held for ransom in their dad's basement, all before Roy was revealed as the Big Bad.
  • The order in which the puppets are seemingly killed off in the last three episodes mirrors their attitudes towards the teacher in the first three — Red Guy is the one who calls Sketchbook's ideas boring in the original short and his head explodes at the end of Episode 4, Duck is the one to bring up that time might not exist in the second and is Eaten Alive in Episode 5, and Yellow Guy is the one who has the supposedly-wrong idea of love in Episode 3.
  • The series' official poster in itself could be foreshadowing, because Yellow Guy is shown floating alone in space while his friends watch. By the end of Episode 5, he's the only one left.
  • Astral Checkerboard Decor patterns appear in every video (the dining room floor in Episode 1, the bathroom floor in Episode 2, the picnic mat in Episode 3, the digital world in Episode 4 and the kitchen tiles in Episode 5). It foreshadows the Lotus-Eater Machine nature of the world they live in; the world's control room in Episode 6 has checkerboard flooring.
  • Episode 4 had several subtle references to oats. Episode 5 is all about foods that are plain-looking, like oats. Given the conspiracy elements that have been surfacing lately, what could they really mean?

"Time":

  • Apple: And I rot over time and I'm noot anymooooooooore... Five guesses as to what happens to the puppets later in the episode.
  • During the trio's journey through time with Tony, the Yellow Guy notices an old man died, to which Tony directs his attention toward a computer. The fourth episode features Colin the Computer, and expands on the Ludd Was Right themes that the second video showed.
  • When time is sped up, Yellow Guy and Red Guy merely become wrinkled and grey haired, and are still moving around and making a lot of noise. Duck isn't moving at all, other than Tony rocking his chair, he isn't making a sound, and he is the only one shown to be rotting away almost instantly, the flesh falling off his fingers and his eye falling out of his socket, instead of him getting old like the other puppets. When things go back to normal, Duck's eye is still in the corner of the room, while Tony very pointedly says. "Eventually, everyone runs out of time." Fast forward to "Health"...

"Love":

  • While Yellow Guy is following Shrignold over the rainbow, the background singers are chanting "Love is a place, love is a thing! Love is a place, love is a thing!". And then we meet the love cult, who are just as clueless and contradictory on what love actually is.
  • Shrignold gives his lesson only to Yellow Guy. Three episodes later, Yellow Guy is the only one left.

"Health":

  • The start of the episode shows a quick shot of the drawing on the fridge, which has changed to show Red Guy leaving the house and Duck dead. Guess what happens by the end?
  • The canned Duck is shown in the "healthy food shape" and behind the cooked meat when the "fancy food" is shown.
  • When Lamb Chop starts singing, he pokes Duck a few times with his fork. He doesn't turn out well.
  • The Lamb Chop puts a lot of emphasis and mispronunciation on the word "OR-GANS". Guess what is harvested from Duck by the end of the episode?
  • A staring, blinking, creepily fleshy eye shows up throughout the episode, including, eventually, in a plate of spaghetti, suggesting the poor Duck’s eventual fate, which is revealed with a Deranged Animation of eyeballs on a plate.
  • In "Love", the characters are seen eating raw dead birds, and in "Creativity", it's Duck who spells out "death" in potato stamps, while the others coat organs in glitter and make them into a cake, just like the giant can does with Duck's organs. Duck's death was foreshadowed from the very beginning.
  • "Gel" and cigarettes are food groups featured in the Health Shape. In the next episode, two of the potential Teachers controlled by the machine are shown to be a can of gel and a cigarette.

"Dreams":

  • In "Computers" and "Health", the Teachers show up out of nowhere with no logical reason how they got there. This episode reveals that they are controlled by a machine, which can place them in the scene at any time.
  • Red Guy (who is in reality) is asked to file some things, and says that it would be weird if the file came to life and began to sing. Later in the episode, as Red Guy is toggling the slew of teachers in the machine, one of them just so happens to be a singing file who says the exact same line he said.
  • In the interview, when the puppets are asked what they find exciting, Red Guy replies "Nothing". It seems like just a reference to how Red Guy is The Stoic, but it's also foreshadowing that when Red Guy escapes the lessons, he ends up in a world where everything's dull and boring.

"Jobs":

  • Even before the episode starts, during to theme song, there’s a shot of the trio’s fridge, which has a picture of Yellow Guy with his hand being cut off, possibly foreshadowing that same thing happening in the episode.
  • When the trio ask if the workers have seen Briefcase, the workers point to a first aid kit, thinking they're describing it. As it turns out, Briefcase was hiding inside the entire time.
  • Just as he disappears into the closet, Briefcase sings, "You can be the one who digs a hole at a funeral." The next episode is "Death".

"Death":

  • When Duck is reading his newspaper, there is a small mention of a worm being fired for harassment. Eventually, said worm shows up as the teacher in "Friendship".
  • The front page of Duck's newspaper says "Power surge leads to blackout", which is exactly what happens in "Electricity".
  • Duck's song alludes to all of the teachers (aside from the Coffin) in the TV series.
    When you meet a businessman
    You must shake him by the hand
    When you meet a family man
    You must shake him by the hand
    When you meet the choo-choo man
    You must shake him by the hand
    When you meet a friendly fellow
    You must shake him by the hand
    When you meet the plug-in man
    You must shake him by the hand

"Family":

  • During The Twins' musical number, they mention "cooking family meals" as something a family should do together, showing a roasted chicken coming out of the oven. This alludes to their entire motive of getting Yellow Guy to order them a family-sized chicken dinner.
  • The grandmother screams when Duck tries to take "Mother's piece", since only Mother is allowed to touch it, even though Yellow Guy had been given it to use without incident. It turns out the family's plan was to turn Yellow Guy into the new mother.
  • The "father" never speaks, he only ever grunts. He can't talk because he's the baby. Also, when the kids say that it's bedtime, he joins them in their excited jumping.
  • Roy can briefly be seen walking away from the Twins' house window shortly before his actual surprise appearance.

"Transportation":

  • During the Old Train's song, the license "LE5L3Y" is prominently featured, as in Lesley, the woman Yellow Guy encounters in the attic in the next episode and who is implied to be the one running the show this time around.
  • Yellow Guy looks at the window on his side of the car and sees his reflection, which has neatly-combed hair, as opposed to his actual messy style. In the next episode, when his batteries are changed and he regains full brain power, his looks change accordingly, and his mirror reflection now shows his dim-witted self.
  • The dream Yellow Guy describes in the intro song sounds a lot like what happens in "Electricity", especially the mention of a "little lumpy one" and "I knew what they were but I don't know now".

"Electricity":

  • In the beginning of the episode, when the puppets all try to guess the opposite of "down", Yellow Guy gives a rambling, confused answer that at first sounds like nonsense, but turns out to foreshadow all the revelations of the episode.
