In this world, there are three things that cannot be hidden: the sun, the moon, and... the truth.

The Whole Truth is a Thai Drama/Horror Movie by Wisit Sasanatieng.

Putt (Mac Nattapat Nimjiwarat) and Pim (Sutatta Udomslip) are two teenage siblings living with their mother Mai (Nicole Theriault). One day, she gets into a car accident and ends up in a coma. When this happens, a man claiming to be Putt and Pim's grandfather (Sompob Benjathikul) shows up at their house and offers to let them live with him and their grandmother Wan (Tarika Tidatid).

The two siblings are confused: their mother never mentioned their grandparents to them. However, seeing as they have no other options, they take the man up on his offer. At first the two seem nice enough and Putt and Pim accept them as their grandparents. However, strange things start happening at the house, all of it relating to a strange hole in the wall of the living room that only Putt and Pim can see.

The film was released on Netflix on December 2nd, 2021.

The Whole Truth contains examples of:

  • Ate His Gun: How Phong kills himself. Whether he did it himself, or because Pinya made him, though, is up in the air.
  • Attractiveness Discrimination: Wan apparently hated Pinya for having a swollen face, and killed her by letting her drink rat poison. She hates Putt for having his leg in a brace, and has been giving him milk laced with rat poison since he and Pim moved in.
  • Blackmail: Fame has been trying to get Putt to get him together with his sister by threatening to send a clip of Pim having a shower to everyone in the school if he doesn't comply.
  • Blood from the Mouth: The Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl in the house next door vomits up a large amount of blood in plenty of her scenes. Putt starts coughing up blood a few days into moving in with his and Pim's grandparents. At first Pim thinks it might be caused by him looking through the hole, but it's actually because Wan has been giving Putt milk laced with rat poison.
  • The Bully: Fame acts as this towards Putt.
  • Cassandra Truth: For some reason, only Putt and Pim can see the hole in the wall and hear the noises that come from it. As a result, nobody believes them when they try to point it out. Then Wan reveals she can see the hole and hear the noises coming from it too.
  • Disappeared Dad: Putt's and Pim's father, who we later find out was named Krit, isn't present in his kids' lives. That's because he was killed by Mai when Pim was a baby and Putt was still in his mother's womb.
  • Edible Theme Naming: Putt, Pim, and Mai have a cat named Latte.
  • Facial Horror: The Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl has the right half of her face swollen. Pinya had it in life as well. It seems to be what compelled her grandmother to kill her with rat poison.
  • False Friend: Paew is revealed to be this, being the one who filmed Pim showering, and sending Fame the video, all in a bid to humiliate Pim off of the cheerleading squad.
  • Get Out!: Pim shouts that, among other things, at Fame when she catches him spying on her changing.
  • It Runs in the Family: Putt seems to have inherited his artistic preferences from his dead father.
  • The Reveal: The Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl next door is Pinya, Pim's and Putt's older sister. When Pim was a baby and Putt not born yet, Pinya was home alone with Mai's husband. They played hide and seek and she hid in the room under the stairs, but he forgot about it because of his drinking and took a nap on the couch. Then Wan saw the door to the room under the stairs and locked it, not knowing Pinya was in there.
    • At first it seems that Pinya consumed the rat poison that Wan kept under the stairs and died from it. In shame, the father took Phongs gun and shot himself with it. Except, there are even further reveals delivered in quick succussion: Wan had intended for Pinya to consume the rat poison, wanting Pinya dead because she couldn't stand her daughter having an ugly baby. The film initially makes it look like Phong shot and killed Krit himself, only for the second last scene to show Mai killed Krit herself, using her father's gun, believing he was solely responsible for their daughter's death.
  • Smash to Black: Happens after Mai's car crashes into another one.
  • Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl: One appears to live next door. Only Putt and Pim can see it. It's their dead older sister, Pinya.
  • Title Drop: Courtesy of Pim after she, Putt, and Mai leave their grandparents' house.
Pim: Mom, what if what we know... is not the whole truth?
  • Undeathly Pallor: The Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl next door has dark grey skin.
  • Unknown Relative: Putt and Pim never knew they had grandparents, so they're understandably confused when their grandpa shows up at their house claiming to be who he is. Because their mom had a falling out with them over their older sister's death when Pim was a baby, and Mai was still pregnant with Putt.
  • Wham Line: While explaining that Putt has been coughing up blood for days, Pim notices the milk, and then asks...
Pim: Grandma, what have you been giving Putt?

Truth is sometimes like a small hole camouflaged by darkness. It's always been there. We just can't see it. But as soon as a light shines on it, it reveals itself for all to see, making us wonder how long it has been there.
