A 2011 Australian horror mockumentary, directed by Carlo Ledesma, starring Bel Deliá, Andy Rodoreda, Steve Davis and Luke Arnold.

A film crew learns of a government cover-up about the abandoned train tunnels beneath the heart of Sydney, and decides to go inside to try to find the truth. Very quickly the group begins to realize that perhaps the cover-up was for a good reason.

Contains examples of:

  • Beneath the Earth: Most of the film takes place in an abandoned railways system under Sydney, where the film crew was going to report as to why the government suddenly abandoned a plan to use water from an untapped lake. They claim it's because it was too much of a PR nightmare to dislodge all the homeless people living in the tunnels, but it's more likely because of the Stalker.

  • Bribe Backfire: Natasha and the film crew are kicked out of the station when they try to bribe a security guard. He knows about the Stalker, and knows what will happen to anybody who gets into the tunnels.

  • Crazy Homeless Person: Trevor goes into a screaming panic when asked to elaborate on why he doesn't live in the tunnels anymore.

  • Eye Scream: The security guard gets his eyes torn out by the Stalker before his neck is broken. The crew also find what seem to be a pile of fresh human eyeballs in a blocked-off area of the tunnels.

  • Day Hurts Dark-Adjusted Eyes: The Stalker flees whenever the crew shine their lights at it.

  • Didn't Think This Through: Even without the Stalker, it probably isn't a good idea to take a film crew down into the tunnels where people have been disappearing. Oh, and also lying to the film crew telling them you have the OK from the station head, who doesn't even know where you've gone.

  • Downer Ending: Natasha quits her job as a journalist, Pete dies from internal bleeding after being attacked by the Stalker, Tangles' whereabouts are unknown, and the Stalker continues its reign of terror underground.

  • Foregone Conclusion: Only Natasha and Steven are interviewed about the events that happened in the tunnel.

  • The Gadfly: Steven and Tangles, generally to one another, but they know when to be professional and Steven sees himself as Tangles' mentor. Steven is the most upset of the crew when Tangles disappears and is adamant about looking for him.

  • Going for the Big Scoop: Natasha wants to find out why the government cancelled the water recycling plan and if that's somehow connected to the disappearance of several homeless people in the tunnels beneath Sydney. It's implied that Natasha is close to being fired from her news station if she doesn't come up with a big story.

  • Government Conspiracy: Why Natasha suspects that the New South Wales government shuttered the water recycling project. It's because there's a man-eating something living in the abandoned train tunnels and they won't/don't know how to deal with it.

  • Heroic B So D: Steven after they escape from the tunnels, sits against a column while Natasha screams for help and Pete bleeds to death.

  • Humanoid Abomination: Though only glimpses of it are scene, the Stalker appears human-like in build, and even may be wearing some form of clothing, but it's taller than any person, and seems to have long, spindly limbs.

  • Intrepid Reporter: Pete and his screw are established reporters, while Natasha hopes that her investigation into the government's abandoned water recycling plan will make her one.

  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Steven is the most abrasive and irresponsible of the group, but he genuinely cares about his job, is the most upset when Tangles disappears, and helps save Pete and Natasha several times.

  • Nothing Is Scarier: You only see fleeting glimpses on the night-vision camera of what's been stalking the film crew.

  • Police Are Useless: The police don't seem to do anything about the homeless people disappearing in the tunnels and they quickly shelve the case into Tangles' disappearance.

  • Sinister Subway: The movie takes place in the abandoned rail tunnels under Sydney.

  • What the Hell, Hero?: Pete to Natasha when he realizes she scuppered a project he'd spent months preparing for, lied to them about having permission from the higher-ups at the station, and that nobody outside knows where they are.
