Tropes for the film:

  • Deus ex Machina: In the climatic finale, Detective Black stumbled upon his daughter Mary's ghost and acquired a life-saving tip that can enable him to defeat Mr. Nobody.
  • Police Brutality: The Drifter was assaulted extremely badly to the point of coma by Det. Black and the rest of the police officers who were in the interrogation scene. This sets off the entire vengeance plot of the film.
  • Reality Warper: Mr. Nobody has such an ability whereby whoever hears his "confession", it will become a reality.
  • Resurrected Murderer: Mr. Nobody is revealed to be the spirit of a dead child killer, supernaturally brought back to life through the sheer hatred of the cops who caught him and his desire to kill them all.
  • The Smurfette Principle: Jane Hollow is the only female police officer present in the film, and the only female who took part of the assaulting of the drifter 1 year prior to the story.
  • Sole Survivor: Det. Black is the only survivor out of the 6 police officers whom Mr. Nobody vows to take revenge on.
  • Tagline: "How do you catch a killer you've already caught?".
  • Weaksauce Weakness: The only way to counter Mr. Nobody is actually by letting him hear his real full name, which will make him lose powers and become vulnerable to physical attacks. Makes sense for him to conceal his identity throughout the film.
